Position Summary As a Chef, you will: Lead and supervise the kitchen team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals with excellent taste and presentation. Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations. Oversee menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, and dining operations within established budget guidelines. Foster a positive dining experience for residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and ensure the delivery of nutritious and appealing meals for residents seven days per week. Supervise, mentor, and support kitchen staff while promoting adherence to food safety, sanitation, and occupational health and safety standards. Manage food inventory, purchasing, scheduling, and kitchen operations to support efficiency and cost control. Participate in menu development, seasonal planning, and special event dining services. Maintain accurate inventory, temperature, and sanitation records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with Ontario public health regulations and workplace safety standards. Qualifications Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in high-volume food preparation and fine dining. Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen environment. Valid Food Handler Certification required; HACCP certification considered an asset. Red Seal Certification is considered an asset. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. Demonstrated knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention practices. Experience working in retirement living, long-term care, hospitality, or healthcare settings is considered an asset. Why Join Us?
