Duties Prepare and cook a variety of teppanyaki dishes, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and rice or noodle dishes, following established recipes and presentation standards. Operate specialized kitchen equipment such as teppanyaki grills, knives, and other culinary tools with skill and safety. Demonstrate exceptional knife skills to ensure precise cutting, slicing, and garnishing of ingredients. Plan menus that highlight fresh ingredients while adhering to dietary guidelines and customer preferences. Maintain strict food safety protocols by sanitizing all kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly to prevent contamination. Engage with guests through lively cooking demonstrations that entertain while showcasing culinary expertise. Assist in food preparation tasks such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production to support high-volume meal service. Ensure consistent recipe adherence for quality control across all dishes served. Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions effectively. Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining flavor integrity and presentation standards. Experience Proven experience working as a teppanyaki chef or in a similar fine dining or high-volume restaurant environment. Strong background in food preparation techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and general kitchen operations. Demonstrated ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Extensive knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a professional setting. Experience handling diverse ingredients with excellent knife skills for precise cuts and presentation. Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food production processes within the food industry. Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience is advantageous for accommodating special dietary requests. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
