In this role, you will support the head chef in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, ensuring a seamless kitchen operation. Your enthusiasm for food preparation, attention to detail, and commitment to food safety will help create memorable dining experiences for our students. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, energetic environment where teamwork and passion for food are celebrated. Responsibilities Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards Support menu planning by suggesting innovative ideas and ensuring consistency in food presentation Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices Help with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards at all times Participate in catering events and special functions, providing excellent food service and presentation Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and smooth kitchen operations Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and food handling in a restaurant or food industry setting Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations Strong knife skills and knowledge of culinary techniques are preferred Experience working in catering or large-scale meal service environments is a plus Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures is essential Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high quality standards
Pay:
$20.50 - $22.00 per hour
