•Who We Are Looking For The Hamilton is seeking a passionate Executive Chef who will lead our fantastic team and bring The Hamilton's dining experience to the next level. The next Hamilton Executive Chef will be up-to-date with current preparation and presentation trends as well as bring fresh and new ideas keeping in mind a California lifestyle. As an upscale, non-profit restaurant, The Hamilton Executive Chef is free of strict budgetary limitations when designing menus and has boundless space for creativity and experimentation. This position is for someone who wants to create without constraint and who welcomes the opportunity to call The Hamilton Kitchen their own. Who We Are We are one of a kind. The Hamilton is an age-restricted homeowners association made up of 36 luxury condominiums. The Hamilton offers a variety of amenities and services that creates a carefree lifestyle that our savvy and sophisticated residents appreciate and expect for themselves and their many family, friends, and professional colleagues. One of these services is nightly dining in our restaurant, where reservations range from 35 - 65+ diners. The menu changes daily based on seasonal offerings. What We Expect from the Ideal Candidate 7-10+ years working as a culinary professional in fine restaurants, upscale hotels, or private clubs
3+ years in a supervisory role such as Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine
Degree from a culinary institution or hotel and restaurant program can substitute for some of the number of years of experience
Pastry experience a plus
Possession of current Food Protection Manager Certification and Food Handler Card, or be able to efficiently obtain certifications
The ability to lead, develop, and celebrate our current kitchen staff as well as hire and develop additional team members as needed
Engagement with community members to obtain & utilize feedback
The ability and interest in developing menus, seasonal menus, special dinners / events, offering a variety of food styles from upscale casual to fine dining taking inspiration from many sources
The skills to monitor food cost, purchasing, inventory, waste, and departmental expenses
Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel, and the ability to perform research via the internet
The ability to maintain impeccable sanitation, organization, food safety, and workplace safety standards
Pride to ensure exceptional food quality, consistency, presentation, and execution
The desire to be hands-on and involved with food preparation and expidition
Responsibility for, in collaboration with the Facilities Manager, the maintenance and repair of the kitchen and its equipment
Constructive collaboration with our Sous Chef, Dining Room Manager and General Manager in creating memorable dining experiences on an on-going basis and through weekly F & B meetings.
A close working relationship with other department managers via individual communications and weekly meetings
Solid communication skills demonstrated by clarity of thought, conciseness of expression, patience and good listening. What the Ideal Candidate Can Expect from The Hamilton Competitive Salary with Performance Bonus
