Description:
The Culinary team is responsible for delivering an exceptional, highly personalized culinary experience for the principals, family members, and their guests. The Private Chefs operate as peer culinary partners, sharing responsibility for the household's day-to-day culinary program, special events, entertaining, purchasing, kitchen standards, menu development, and culinary execution. Each Chef is expected to be fully capable of independently managing the kitchen and providing complete culinary service when the other Chef is unavailable. The successful candidate will combine exceptional culinary ability with the discretion, flexibility, emotional intelligence, and service orientation required to work within a highly personalized private household. The Chef must be equally comfortable preparing refined restaurant-quality cuisine, sophisticated multi-course dinners, and familiar family-style meals tailored precisely to the principals' preferences. This is a hands-on culinary position. The Private Chef team are expected to actively cook, prep, organize, source ingredients, maintain kitchen standards, develop menus and execute service rather than functioning solely as culinary managers. The Private Chef team reports to the Estate Manager and work collaboratively with the broader household team.Requirements:
Education /Experience:
Minimum 8-10 years of professional culinary experience, preferably including luxury hospitality, fine dining, private households, private clubs, yachts, luxury hotels, or similarly demanding environments.Required Skills:
Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality cuisine for discerning clients, principals, executives, VIPs, or high-profile guests. Strong culinary foundation with proficiency across multiple cuisines and culinary styles. Demonstrated ability to execute both sophisticated cuisine and approachable family-style meals. Experience accommodating complex dietary restrictions and allergies. Experience with private events and larger-scale entertaining. Experience with premium food procurement and culinary vendor relationships. Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing, inventory, food costing, and waste management. Experience working effectively as part of a culinary team. Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred. UHNW private household experience strongly preferred.
