Do you love teaching people to cook? Are you passionate about food? In this position you will deliver cooking classes to various groups in a teaching kitchen. Our program offers hands-on cooking classes, teaching children, teens and adults how to prepare nutritious, delicious, and affordable meals made from seasonal and local ingredients. The goal of these cooking classes is to introduce our students to skills and ingredients that they might not be familiar with. The Culinary Educator responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following: Teach cooking classes using prepared recipes and lesson plans. Provide instruction on menu planning, safety, and sanitation practices in the kitchen. Share culinary terminology, food cuisines, and general food knowledge. Maintain the equipment and supplies of AtoZ. Provide personalized feedback to students to support their growth in culinary arts, nutrition knowledge, and food industry practices. Collaborate with team members to develop curriculum content aligned with industry standards and educational best practices.
Skills Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and proper food handling procedures. Proven ability to teach effectively within a classroom or workshop setting. Experience managing teams as a chef or culinary instructor in various settings such as restaurants or culinary schools. Familiarity with learning technology and educational technology integration to enhance instructional delivery. Track time in AtoZ communication tool Connecteam. Background in private cheffing, boutique catering, supper clubs, or interactive cooking instruction preferred (high-volume restaurant line experience is not required).

Comfort working directly in front of guests, explaining the "why" behind techniques, and answering questions in real time.

Ability to thrive in dynamic cooking environments, pop-up setups, or community kitchens without standard restaurant brigade infrastructure.
Availability:
MUST BE available in the afternoon, evenings and weekends when classes will be conducted.

Deliver warm, front-of-house hospitality while instructing, blending culinary technique with engaging public speaking and hospitality skills.

Oversee end-to-end prep execution, mise en place logistics, and food costing tailored to group events rather than high-volume line service.
Pacing & Time Management:
Command a class flow smoothly from setup to plating, keeping participants engaged without relying on line-cook station dynamics.
