About Monte's Monte's is a casual, community-driven space focusing on produce sourced from Rincon Hill Farm, as well as Central California Coast's bounty of produce, seafood, and protein. The menu is farm-driven and fun, balancing comfort and creativity through highlighting seasonal ingredients, bold flavors, and an unfussy approach to cooking. The Opportunity The Sous Chef position will work directly with the Exec Sous, and Head Chef to ensure excellence in the kitchen, adherence to recipes, oversight of their area of the kitchen and the cooks in their station. The Sous Chef leads the cooks, complies with company policies and team safety and well-being, all while upholding the Endwell Hospitality culture. What You'll Be Doing Work directly with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to execute menus and dishes at every service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and beautiful, delicious cuisine. Oversee and lead cooks in their respective area of the kitchen to ensure everyone is performing at a high level Increase productivity and foster positive communications between the kitchen and dining room Be a driving force to build relationships between our restaurant and the neighborhood Ensure rigorous knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures The Ideal Candidate Is a team player and team builder that leads by example, is proactive, innovative, and has an entrepreneurial spirit. Proficient knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients Ability to lead and empower a team English fluency and Spanish preferred
Requirements:
At least 5 years of kitchen experience in an upscale restaurant Fluent in both written and spoken English Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50+ pounds Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business Bachelor's Degree, Certification in Hospitality, or relevant experience gained from time on the job Perks A competitive salary based on experience Access to medical, dental & vision benefits Pre-tax transit benefits Employee discounts on awesome food & wine Industry leading PTO offerings An opportunity to grow, and further your career with the team!
