Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be the artist behind our exquisite sushi offerings, crafting beautifully presented, authentic dishes that delight our guests. Your expertise in Japanese cuisine, food preparation, and kitchen operations will be vital in delivering an exceptional dining experience. Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation throughout all food handling processes Execute food preparation tasks efficiently to meet service times during busy hours Handle all aspects of food service, including plating, garnishing, and presentation to ensure visual appeal Manage knife skills for slicing fish and vegetables accurately and safely Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and uphold the restaurant's culinary standards Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a fine dining or Japanese restaurant setting Strong knowledge of food handling safety protocols and sanitation standards Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques specific to sushi and Japanese cuisine Excellent knife skills with precision slicing abilities Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus for understanding special dietary needs Prior restaurant experience with a focus on food service, catering, or the food industry preferred Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards Join us to craft memorable culinary experiences that captivate our guests' senses!
