The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sushi preparation and a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring authenticity and quality. Collaborate with the kitchen team to design and implement innovative sushi menus. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests and answering any questions about menu items. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong culinary skills with expertise in food preparation, cooking, and food handling. Previous experience in fine dining establishments is preferred. Knowledge of dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal preparation. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations. Experience in menu planning, catering, or serving is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
