The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation, and possess excellent knife skills and food safety knowledge. This role involves creating high-quality sushi dishes, menu planning, and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. The Sushi Chef will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, including rolls, sashimi, and nigiri Plan and develop sushi menus that align with restaurant standards and customer preferences Ensure all food safety protocols are strictly followed during food handling and preparation Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area Manage inventory levels for sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods Uphold high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food presentation at all times Assist in training junior kitchen staff or culinary interns as needed Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within fine dining or Japanese cuisine settings Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques specific to sushi, sashimi, and related dishes Experience with menu planning, food presentation, and culinary innovation Background in food safety practices and proper handling of raw seafood Prior restaurant experience with a focus on quality control and customer satisfaction Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques within the food industry Experience working in fast-paced environments such as restaurants or catering services is preferred This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to showcase their skills in a dynamic restaurant setting.
