Job Description

Who we are : Field and Fort is a high end home goods shop that features Feast, a cafe serving locally inspired elevated farmhouse fare for breakfast and lunch. Over the past six and a half years we have established ourselves as a staple in the Summerland area, and a destination for travelers to the region. As we have grown, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing high quality food that is both unique and comforting. Sourcing ingredients as locally as possible, and inspired by cuisine from all over the Mediterranean where the climate is strikingly similar to that on our own central coast in California.
Next Steps:
In light of our success and growth over the past five years we have decided to seize an opportunity for expansion, and will soon be opening a second location in Carpenteria. With these new opportunities on the horizon we are seeking an experienced chef that will help us maintain our already high standard, and participate in perfecting our systems, create new dishes and facilitate our evolution into a new space. What you will do : Leadership in the kitchen and team management Kitchen operations, safety and compliance Working with vendors, ordering and managing inventory Prep management, direction and quality control Recipe development Proficiency with the menu, work expo station during service, and occasionally assist the line when needed
Qualifications :
5 years professional restaurant experience At least 2 years in kitchen management Genuine interest in turning fresh, high quality ingredients into meals that look as good as they taste Leadership skills. We want to guide and inspire our team to do their best work while maintaining a positive and healthy working environment Willingness to learn and adapt (all kitchens are a little different) while still bringing personal experience and a problem solving approach to the table Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Pay:
$70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
