The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety and presentation. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high quality and consistency. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation for both dine-in and catering services. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques. Ensure all dishes are presented beautifully to enhance the dining experience. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of dietary department practices and food safety regulations. Experience with meal preparation in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Familiarity with catering services is a plus. Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required; hands-on experience is highly valued. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities.
