You'll be assisting the Pastry Chef in preparing the desserts, maintaining a clean and safe cooking environment, and taking on culinary tasks as they arise. This position requires physical and mental endurance as well as a flexible work schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
Preparing Serendipity Cafe' pastry and savory items for our three retail locations in addition to client events Demonstrating skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies Creating enticing confectionery decorations and delicious pastry fillings, as well as keeping abreast of new pastry baking techniques Follow the prep sheets created by Prep Sheet Creator to plan duties Label and stock ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible; ensure all food and other items are stored and dated properly Clean and sanitize working surfaces, tools, utensils, and working area Wash prep tables and kitchen floor before closing/leaving for the evening; take trash/recycling/compost to designated receptacle outside Able to help prepare cold and hot food for the cafes
