Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences at Andiamo in Mystic, CT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, with expertise in managing kitchen operations within a restaurant or catering environment. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Duties Develop and execute innovative menus that reflect current food trends and customer preferences. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food preparation and service. Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining relationships with vendors to ensure quality ingredients. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences. Monitor food production processes to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes. Implement cost control measures to optimize kitchen operations while maintaining quality standards. Lead shift management by coordinating staff schedules and ensuring smooth service during peak hours. Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, catering operations, and kitchen management. Familiarity with dietary department practices is preferred but not required. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills to effectively lead a diverse team of cooks and kitchen staff. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences.
