Job Description
Executive Chef The Pines Coastal Tavern | Downtown Rehoboth Beach The Pines Coastal Tavern is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen in downtown Rehoboth Beach. Rooted in coastal American cuisine with a strong sense of place, The Pines Coastal Tavern blends elevated comfort food with a vibrant, social atmosphere. This role is an opportunity to shape a menu that reflects both seasonality and creativity while maintaining consistency and quality at a high level. The Pines is part of Second Block Hospitality , a growing restaurant group based in downtown Rehoboth Beach and recognized as Restaurateurs of the Year . Across all of our concepts, guest experience is at the center of everything we do. We are looking for a chef who shares that mindset and understands that great food and great hospitality go hand in hand. Responsibilities Lead all kitchen operations, including daily service, prep, and execution Develop and evolve menus that align with The Pines brand and seasonal availability Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all dishes Manage food and labor costs while maintaining standards Oversee ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships Train, mentor, and lead kitchen team members with a strong focus on culture and accountability Ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to all health and safety standards Collaborate with ownership and management on specials and events Qualifications Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high volume, quality driven restaurant Strong leadership and team development skills Deep understanding of food cost control and kitchen systems Passion for seasonal ingredients and thoughtful menu development Ability to lead by example and remain composed during service Strong organizational and communication skills Compensation and Benefits Salary $75,000-$85,000 based on experience Full benefits package Opportunity for growth within a dynamic and expanding hospitality group To apply, please send your resume to bob@secondblockhm.com
