Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi-making techniques. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Responsibilities Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes according to traditional methods and modern culinary trends. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan and develop menu offerings that highlight seasonal ingredients and cater to customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions about menu items, and accommodating special dietary requests. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with expertise in knife skills, meal preparation, and food handling. Experience in menu planning, catering, and food service within the food industry is highly desirable. Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is an asset. A passion for cooking and a commitment to continuous learning in culinary arts.
