Job Description

Pastry Supervisor The Cake Bake Shop Pastry Supervisor will have a passion for growth in baking and pastry and will be responsible for leading the pastry kitchen team within our Carmel location. You will be a culinary standards leader for our production kitchen, working to ensure proper execution of all baking and pastry items. The Pastry Supervisor must be able to communicate clearly with the Executive Pastry Chef in order to exceed our guest expectations. This position requires a level head, strong organizational skills, and able to handle high volume production.
Job Duties:
Inspects kitchen equipment for cleanliness, hygiene, and monitors sanitation policies to abide by all state food safety and sanitation lawsCommunicates efficiently with the Front of House Managers to assist in a smooth servicePartners with other Supervisors throughout shift to be fully stocked in the caseEstablishes, monitors, and controls food wasteAssists in executing shifts by being familiar with all stationsWorks closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to exceed guest expectationsUpholds a safe workplace for all the employeesIdentifies any problems that arise in the kitchen and reports them quicklyUnderstands all procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs over timeHelp ensures all special events are executed properly to the clients satisfactionEnsure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurants recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standardsCommunicate new products and information to the team effectively and efficientlyPerform daily walk-in, freezer, and dry storage breakdownsAttend weekly production meetingsAssist in proper opening/closing procedures Hold all staff accountable for behaviors and performance
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience either baking or decoratingExperience in management preferredStrong communication skills Excellent time management skillsAbility to work with individuals across departments and build relationships with leaders outside of the immediate team
