La Segunda Bakery & Café Pastry Baker La Segunda Bakery & Café is in search of a Pastry Chef. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 2 years' experience in pastry or baking. You will learn to prep, bake off and finish a wide variety of handmade pastries. Ability to work well alone and as a team is a must. This position is for production, not for decorating. Candidate expected to produce a high volume of products for the restaurant. Duties Reports directly to the Pastry Supervisor on the shift Come to work with clean, neat appearance and in uniform Bake off pastry, per production sheet Follow recipes per company standard Mix, prepare and finish pastry per production sheet Safely operate mixers, cookie machine and sheeter Maintain La Segunda Bakery's high standards for product Quality Responsible for an assigned clean up task at shift conclusion Assisting in other duties as assigned by Pastry Supervisor or General Manager Fill out operations book where necessary Abide by the health department requirements and maintain a clean work area Qualifications 1-2 years minimum experience in Pastry or Baking Able to understand and follow instruction Food preparation experience required Able to work well with others but also self-motivated Able to stand for long periods of time and work in heat Must be able to start at 1am
