Sushi Chef Somi Buffet Sanford, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17 - $20 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Sushi Food production Customer communication Customer service Japanese cuisine Fish processing Seafood Full Job Description Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi using traditional techniques and innovative presentations Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all food preparation areas Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new sushi recipes and menu items that delight customers Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies Ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and portion sizes across all dishes served Uphold restaurant policies and procedures related to health regulations, safety protocols, and customer service excellence. Experience Must have experience 2 years as a Sushi Chef Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a reputable restaurant or culinary setting Strong knowledge of sushi ingredients, techniques, and presentation styles Experience working with seafood and understanding proper handling and storage practices Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment while maintaining quality standards Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a professional kitchen environment Previous experience supervising or training team members is preferred but not required Demonstrated ability to cut all types of fishes such as salmon, tuna and yellow tail and styles as sashimi, handrolls and nigiri. Wage (Based off of experience) $17 to $20 hourly or Salary We are Somi Buffet a up and coming restaurant, a family own restaurant serving the Sanford community. We are looking for people who are friendly, likes working in a fast pace environment and willing to communicate with staff to customers in a high level. Having good vibes is a must!
