Join our senior living community as a Sous Chef . You'll support the Executive Chef, lead daily kitchen operations, develop associates, and help create meaningful dining experiences for residents—all without the routine late-night hours common in restaurants. What You'll Do Lead from the kitchen floor during preparation and meal service Ensure food meets standards for taste, temperature, portioning, and presentation Prepare the team and kitchen for smooth, timely service Conduct pre-meal lineups and communicate assignments and priorities Train, coach, and support cooks and other back-of-house associates Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, and HACCP documentation Assist with inventory, receiving, product rotation, and waste control Respond to challenges with urgency, sound judgment, and a solution-focused approach Partner with the Executive Chef, front-of-house leaders, and other community departments Provide dependable kitchen leadership when the Executive Chef is unavailable Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is skilled, organized, dependable, hands-on, calm under pressure, and passionate about developing a strong culinary team.
Restaurant, hotel, country club, senior living, healthcare, or other high-volume culinary experience is preferred. Previous kitchen leadership experience and food-safety certification are also preferred. A More Balanced Culinary Schedule This position generally works five days per week, including four weekdays and one weekend day , with leadership presence during key lunch and dinner periods.
Evening responsibilities are part of the role, but you won't experience the routine late-night closing shifts found in many traditional restaurants.
