was born from Kona and Arabica, reflecting our coffee-inspired identity and Hawaii gift concept. Our signature product is a butter cookie sandwich, created as an elegant gift item inspired by Hawaii, coffee, and high-quality pastry production. We are building more than a cookie shop.

KONABICA

is being developed as a gift dessert brand with future growth potential in Waikiki and beyond. We are seeking a Head Pastry Chef who wants to be part of the early foundation of the brand and help shape our product quality, production standards, and kitchen culture from the beginning. Japanese or Korean bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. This role is ideal for someone with pastry production experience, strong attention to consistency, and an understanding of food safety. The candidate should be able to support product development, production standards, quality control, and coordination of basic food safety testing such as water activity (aw) and pH with outside labs. Responsibilities Lead daily pastry production for KONABICA's signature butter cookie sandwiches Help finalize product quality, texture, filling consistency, and production workflow before opening Maintain consistent product standards, portion control, and presentation Coordinate with outside labs for water activity (aw) and pH testing as needed Support shelf-life planning and food safety documentation Train and supervise pastry production staff Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production kitchen Manage inventory, ingredients, and production preparation Work with ownership to improve production efficiency and product consistency Contribute to building KONABICA's production standards as a growing Hawaii gift dessert brand Qualifications Pastry, bakery, or dessert production experience required Head Pastry Chef Experience with packaged desserts, cookies, fillings, or production kitchens is a plus Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and quality control Knowledge of water activity (aw), pH testing, and shelf-life planning is required or must be learned and managed as part of the role Japanese or Korean bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply Ability to lead a small team and create consistent production standards Must be authorized to work in the United States Compensation $31-$36 per hour, depending on experience Full-time, 40 hours per week Benefits Health insurance Paid time off after one year of employment Employee discount Opportunities for advancement Professional development opportunities Schedule Full-time 40 hours per week Day shift Typical start time is around 8:00 AM Weekend availability Work Location In person
