In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency. Your expertise will help deliver an authentic Japanese dining experience that delights our guests and elevates our restaurant's reputation. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to culinary excellence, bringing a lively spirit to our kitchen environment. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi including nigiri, sashimi, maki and specialty rolls, and specialty items with attention to presentation and flavor balance Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in accordance with health regulations Develop innovative sushi recipes and contribute to menu planning to keep offerings fresh and exciting Manage ingredient inventory, monitor freshness, and order supplies as needed to ensure seamless kitchen operations Collaborate with team members to coordinate service flow during busy hours and uphold excellent customer service standards Train junior staff on sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and proper handling of raw fish and ingredients Ensure consistent quality control by tasting dishes and adjusting seasoning or presentation as necessary Experience At least 3 years of proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar high-volume Japanese cuisine setting Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling Experience developing new recipes and contributing to menu innovation Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices specific to raw fish handling Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Previous experience managing inventory and ordering supplies in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong teamwork skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff effectively Join us if you're eager to showcase your sushi mastery in a lively setting where creativity meets tradition!
