Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry, maintaining consistency and quality. Select fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage to uphold safety standards and flavor integrity. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to all food safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery. Develop new sushi recipes and presentation styles to enhance menu offerings and guest satisfaction. Educate junior staff on sushi techniques, knife skills, and presentation standards to foster team growth. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages. Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a reputable restaurant or culinary setting. Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including fish filleting, rice cooking, and knife skills. Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper handling of raw ingredients. Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience working with fresh seafood and knowledge of sourcing quality ingredients. Creative flair for presentation and a passion for Japanese cuisine. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
