Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Prepare authentic North Indian vegetarian, chicken, lamb, goat and seafood curries.
- Produce consistent base gravies, sauces, spice blends and marinades.
- Follow standardized recipes, portion controls and plating specifications.
- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, appearance and food quality.
- Organize daily mise en place and complete assigned batch production.
- Execute a la carte, lunch buffet, banquet and private-event service.
- Monitor product rotation, labeling, waste and food-safety standards.
- Coordinate with the Tandoor Cook, Appetizer Cook and kitchen-support team.
- Assist with inventory, ordering lists and team training as requested. Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional North Indian cooking experience is preferred.
- Strong command of Indian spices, curry bases and traditional cooking methods.
- Ability to reproduce recipes consistently in small and large batches.
- Experience with a la carte service, buffet production and banquet preparation.
- Strong organization, sanitation, communication and teamwork habits.
- Illinois food-handler certification by the start date; manager certification preferred. Schedule and employment requirements
- Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Employment is contingent upon authorization to work in the United States.
- This is a nonexempt position. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, as required by applicable law. Benefits and opening details
