About The Garrison Room The Garrison Room will be an upscale steakhouse operated by Booth Creek Wagyu, dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality featuring some of America's finest beef products. Our mission is to create memorable dining experiences through authentic service, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to quality. It takes extraordinary leadership to create extraordinary dining experiences. We are seeking an Executive Chef who is passionate about developing people, maintaining high standards, and taking pride in providing guests with meals they will never forget. Position Summary The Executive Chef serves as the culinary director of The Garrison Room and is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, menu execution, food quality, sanitation, inventory management, and team development. This individual will lead by example, foster a culture of professionalism and accountability, and ensure every plate reflects our standards. The ideal candidate combines culinary excellence with strong leadership skills, business insight, and the understanding that consistency and teamwork are just as important as exceptional food. Responsibilities Lead all culinary operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. Recruit, train, and develop kitchen team members. Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable kitchen culture that is based on lifting people up rather than tearing them down. Create efficient kitchen systems that promote consistency and teamwork. Oversee ordering, receiving, inventory management, and food cost controls. Build schedules that balance operational needs with labor efficiency. Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Monitor equipment maintenance and kitchen cleanliness. Collaborate with the General Manager and Front of House Manager to ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and dining room. Address guest feedback professionally and continually seek opportunities to improve the dining experience. Assist the Booth Creek Wagyu marketing team in a minor role that focuses on content filmed in the restaurant. Support the Booth Creek Wagyu wholesale team by welcoming prospective clients and chefs from other steakhouses to experience our product Qualifications Five or more years of progressive culinary leadership experience, preferably with some experience in upscale dining and/or a steakhouse. Demonstrated experience managing kitchen operations and leading culinary teams. Strong knowledge of premium steak preparation, classic cooking techniques, and the finer points of different steak cuts. Experience with inventory management, food costing, purchasing, and labor management. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to remain calm and decisive in a fast-paced environment. ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Culinary degree preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Work safely around hot surfaces, sharp equipment, and commercial kitchen machinery. Perform repetitive bending, lifting, reaching, and extended periods of physical activity.
