The Warwick Public School District is seeking a candidate to assist us in our farm to table lunch program. This person will ideally must have experience with and be committed to supporting our locally-sourced and nutritious home cooked approach to meals. We are interested in candidates who demonstrate a love of food, cooking and children and are invested in the achievement, equity, and access of all learners in and beyond the classroom. An ideal candidate thrives on creating new menu items for students from around the world as a way to introduce them to new cultures.
Responsibilities include:
Knowledge of nutritional requirements of National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs as established by the USDA Based on written recipes, understand and prepare the daily menu, alternate menu selections, and a la carte items as planned Ability to understand and follow established HACCP, safety, and sanitation regulations Demonstrate knowledge and safe operation of food service equipment during use and cleaning Assist in overall kitchen performance including ordering, inventory, organization, and cleanliness Ability to direct and assist other staff members as needed Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, students and faculty Ability to use proper food labeling and rotation practices. Ability and willingness to maintain daily Production Records. Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift fifty pounds off the floor Must be able to lift 15 pounds over head. Serve Safe Certified (certification may be obtained after hire) Allergen Training is required. (certification may be obtained after hire) Able to handle problems as they arise and adjust to the situation accordingly.
