Dryft Wellesley, located in Linden Square, is part of the Aldi Companies restaurant group, offering an elevated yet approachable dining experience with a focus on fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and exceptional hospitality. As part of a growing restaurant group, we are committed to delivering high-quality dishes, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Dryft Wellesley is seeking an experienced Chef de Cuisine to work directly with our Executive Chef and take a leadership role in day-to-day BOH operations. This position requires a strong manager who excels at leading teams, providing clear direction, training and developing staff, managing staffing needs, and maintaining accountability. While strong culinary skills are essential, we are looking for a leader who understands that a successful kitchen depends on communication, organization, consistency, and a well-trained team. Responsibilities Lead and manage daily kitchen operations, providing clear direction and maintaining efficiency, organization, and consistency. Supervise, train, coach, and develop kitchen staff while fostering teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Establish clear expectations for staff performance, professionalism, attendance, organization, and execution. Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, staffing, and evaluating BOH employees. Identify training and staffing needs and work proactively to strengthen the kitchen team and develop employees across multiple stations. Lead the BOH team during service, communicating priorities, addressing issues, and ensuring employees have the direction and support needed to perform successfully. Work closely with the Executive Chef on menu execution, specials, kitchen systems, and overall operational standards. Manage food costs, labor, inventory, ordering, product rotation, and waste while maintaining quality and profitability. Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and kitchen organization. Address employee performance issues professionally and consistently while maintaining a culture of accountability. Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure strong communication, smooth service, and an exceptional guest experience. Take ownership of kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence, ensuring established standards and expectations are maintained. Qualifications Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or in a similar BOH leadership role. Strong leadership and team management skills with demonstrated experience directing, training, coaching, and developing kitchen staff. Ability to communicate expectations clearly, delegate effectively, and hold employees accountable in a professional and constructive manner. Experience with BOH hiring, onboarding, scheduling, staffing, training, and employee performance management. Strong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of labor management, inventory, food cost controls, ordering, product rotation, and waste management. Candidates do not need to be experts in every area, as additional training and development can be provided. Ability to work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and fellow managers while independently leading the kitchen when needed. Strong hands-on culinary skills with the ability to execute established menu concepts consistently and lead the team through service. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and culinary best practices. Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. If you are an experienced culinary leader who excels at managing people, developing strong teams, and creating an organized and accountable kitchen environment, we encourage you to apply.
