Assignment Length:
Approximately 1-2 months Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Assistant Chef for a temporary assignment with a boutique, fine-dining catering company. This position will support the Executive Chef with food preparation and cooking for weddings and special events serving approximately 100 guests. Schedule Approximately four days per week, depending on the event schedule: Wednesday-Saturday Thursday-Sunday Occasionally Wednesday-Sunday Prep days: approximately 6-8 hours Event days: approximately 8-10 hours Applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef with preparing and cooking fine-dining-style menu items. Complete ingredient preparation and other assigned prep work. Follow recipes, presentation standards, and portion guidelines. Assist with plating and executing meals for weddings and catered events. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Follow proper food-safety and food-handling procedures. Help load, transport, unload, and organize food and catering supplies. Assist the culinary team throughout event setup and service. Drive a company vehicle to event venues when needed. Qualifications Previous professional cooking, catering, banquet, or restaurant experience. Comfortable preparing high-quality meals for approximately 100 guests. Ability to work efficiently under the direction of an Executive Chef. Dependable and available for a flexible Wednesday-Sunday schedule. Able to stand for extended periods and lift catering supplies as needed. Strong teamwork, organization, and time-management skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 45.0 per week
