Responsibilities Prepare and assemble sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with meticulous attention to detail and consistency Follow established recipes and menu specifications to ensure authentic flavor profiles and presentation standards Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including sushi knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, sanitizing workstations and utensils regularly to prevent contamination Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative sushi creations that align with customer preferences and seasonal ingredients Manage food production during high-volume service periods while maintaining quality control Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of orders in a lively dining environment Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings Strong knife skills with the ability to perform precise cuts for sushi rolls and sashimi Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a professional kitchen Experience with food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling specific to Japanese cuisine Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Background in food industry standards related to dietary aide experience, menu planning, and catering is a plus Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail in recipe adherence and meal presentation Embark on an exciting culinary journey where your skills will be valued and your creativity celebrated.
