Job Description
Job Summary The Country Club of Lansing is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the food industry, particularly in fine dining and catering environments. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, menu planning, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. Duties Develop and execute innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting member preferences. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance and adherence to food safety standards. Oversee food production processes, ensuring efficiency and quality in all dishes prepared. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining appropriate stock levels. Collaborate with the staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of members and guests. Ensure compliance with food handling regulations and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment. Coordinate banquet services, including menu planning and execution for large events. Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership practices. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation. Implement cost control measures while maintaining quality standards. Qualifications Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role within the culinary field. Strong background in fine dining, catering, and restaurant management. Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, food production, and kitchen management. Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Knowledge of inventory management practices and food service operations. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Strong culinary skills with a passion for cooking and hospitality. Experience in supervising staff within a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
