Job Description

Executive Chef About is: The Oxbow American Grill in Ridgeland centers its culinary identity around wood-fired cooking using Mississippi red oak, clean execution, and bold regional flavors. We are seeking a passionate culinary leader for a developmental role working closely alongside our culinary leadership to establish and execute our food program with discipline, restraint, and operational excellence.
The Role:
In this developmental role, you will work directly with Culinary Partner Jason Brumm to lead the Back-of-House culinary team, holding shared responsibility for menu execution, food safety, inventory management, and kitchen culture. Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with concept leadership, you will refine your executive skills while ensuring every dish coming off the line upholds our proprietary standards and culinary ethos.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with executive culinary leadership to direct kitchen operations, ensuring continuous refinement and flawless execution of wood-fired specialties, prep, and plating. Manage Back-of-House labor, food costs, inventory ordering, vendor relationships, and waste reduction strategies. Train, mentor, and build a high-performing culinary team under joint mentorship with executive leadership. Maintain strict adherence to health department regulations, food safety codes, and kitchen cleanliness standards. Collaborate with Front-of-House leadership to align kitchen pacing with dining room flow.
Qualifications:
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred, with a strong drive for professional development under established industry partners. 5+ years of culinary management experience, with proven expertise in wood-fired cooking. Strong financial understanding of kitchen operational metrics, labor scheduling, and yield management. Valid Certified Food Protection Manager credential (ANSI-accredited).
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
