In this role, you will work directly with our Concept Founder & Culinary Partner to manage kitchen operations, uphold food and service standards, and build a team that consistently delivers an outstanding guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes ownership of the details, brings energy and initiative rather than waiting to be directed, and is committed to operational excellence as much as culinary craft. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and execution across every shift Partner directly the Exeuctive Chef/Culinary Partner on the development and elevation of the food & beverage program Manage inventory control, ordering, and food cost, optimizing spend without compromising quality Recruit, hire, train, and develop kitchen staff, building a motivated and accountable team Implement and enforce food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations Maintain kitchen systems (prep lists, checklists, line setups) that make consistency repeatable across the team Run pre-shifts, manage schedules, and coach staff performance in real time Look for opportunities to elevate the guest experience through every dish, not just execute to spec Support menu development and culinary innovation alongside ownership, contributing ideas as well as execution Utilize Toast POS and Microsoft Office for scheduling, ordering, inventory, and reporting Requirements Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar leadership role in a polished casual to upscale restaurant environment A mix of corporate/multi-unit restaurant experience and independent restaurant group experience preferred Strong background in inventory management, cost control, and ordering Demonstrated success in hiring, training, and team development Solid culinary fundamentals, including food preparation and scratch-kitchen technique Comfortable holding standards firmly and respectfully — a leader, not just a cook A proactive, dynamic mindset — someone who brings ideas forward rather than simply following direction Working knowledge of Toast POS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Knowledge of food safety standards; ServSafe certified or willing to obtain Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Join Oxbow American Grill as an Executive Sous Chef, working in direct partnership with ownership to build a best-in-class food & beverage program.
