Job Description

Head Chef Bitter Root Brewing is looking for an experienced, hands-on Chef to lead our kitchen team in Hamilton, Montana. We are a busy, high-volume brewpub with a newly remodeled, primarily from-scratch kitchen focused on fresh food and quality ingredients. Bitter Root Brewing is locally owned and operated, and we've been part of the Bitterroot Valley community for nearly 30 years. We care about our people, our community and creating a workplace where people are treated well and enjoy coming to work. We're looking for a Chef who values those things too—someone who can take ownership of the kitchen, lead a strong team and keep things organized and running well through busy service. This is a hands-on leadership position. Our Chef works scheduled shifts in the kitchen while also managing the day-to-day operation.
Responsibilities include:
Leading, training and supporting the kitchen team Ordering, inventory and vendor management Scheduling, hiring and staffing Food costs, recipe consistency and pricing Menu development and seasonal specials Food quality, safety and sanitation Keeping the kitchen organized and prepared for service Working closely with ownership and our front-of-house team We're looking for someone who is experienced, organized, self-sufficient and calm under pressure. Strong communication and a respectful leadership style are important to us. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary DOE, plus tips. Expected total compensation $65,000-$75,000+ Paid vacation Retirement plan with company match Shift meals and drinks Previous kitchen management experience is required.
