Responsibilities Prepare and assemble sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards Oversee daily kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff, managing shift workflows, and ensuring timely food service Maintain strict food safety protocols, including sanitizing procedures, proper handling of ingredients, and compliance with health regulations Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning, new dish development, and presentation enhancements to keep offerings innovative and appealing Ensure consistent quality in food production by monitoring portion sizes, cooking techniques, and plating standards Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment aligned with safety standards and hospitality excellence Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within fine dining or Japanese cuisine establishments Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong background in food production, food handling, and food safety sanitizing procedures Knowledge of inventory management, cost control measures, and kitchen management best practices Experience with banquet service, catering events, or large-scale food production is preferred Excellent skills in food preparation, cooking techniques specific to sushi and Japanese dishes, and menu planning Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members while maintaining high standards of hospitality and service excellence Familiarity with restaurant management systems and inventory control tools is advantageous Join us to craft exceptional sushi experiences that leave lasting impressions!
