Season's Restaurant at Highland Lake Inn & Resort is seeking an experienced Banquet Sous Chef to join our culinary team. We are an upscale, scratch kitchen focused on fresh, quality ingredients and providing memorable dining experiences for our guests. The Banquet Sous Chef will play an important role in the execution of weddings, corporate events, private dinners, holiday functions, and other large-scale events. This position is ideal for a culinary professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in organization and consistency, and is ready to take the next step in their culinary leadership career. Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team with daily banquet operations Lead and supervise banquet cooks and kitchen staff during event production and service Execute banquet menus according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines Prepare sauces, proteins, vegetables, starches, and other banquet components from scratch Organize production based on event counts, timelines, and production sheets Ensure proper portioning, seasoning, quality, and presentation of all banquet food Coordinate timing and communication between the kitchen, banquet service team, and culinary leadership Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, labeling, storage, and temperature-control procedures Assist with ordering, inventory, product rotation, and maintaining appropriate banquet pars Help train, coach, and develop banquet kitchen staff Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment Step into other kitchen operations as needed to support the overall culinary team Qualifications 2+ years of professional kitchen experience; banquet experience strongly preferred Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and scratch cooking Ability to read and execute recipes and production sheets accurately Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality Excellent communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to lift and carry kitchen equipment and ingredients and remain on your feet for extended periods
