Job Description

Piedmont Crossing is a premier, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community located in beautiful Davidson County, North Carolina. For more than 35 years, we have provided exceptional care and services to older adults through a full continuum of living options, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. Position Summary Under the direction of the Executive Chef, the Chef Supervisor oversees daily food production operations, ensuring residents and patients receive high-quality meals that meet physician-ordered dietary requirements and nutritional standards. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supervising culinary staff, supporting menu execution, and promoting excellence in food quality, safety, and service. Essential Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the work of food service employees to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Oversee food preparation and production to maintain quality, consistency, and adherence to standardized recipes. Ensure compliance with all nutritional, sanitation, safety, and regulatory requirements. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and selecting food service team members in collaboration with the Executive Chef and Director of Food Services. Train, orient, coach, evaluate, and discipline food service staff as needed. Monitor serving lines to ensure meals are accurate, appropriately portioned, attractively presented, and served according to dietary specifications. Maintain and update standardized recipe files and ensure recipes are followed consistently. Direct and monitor cleaning procedures to uphold the highest standards of sanitation and food safety. Enforce all safety, fire, and sanitation policies and procedures. Identify equipment needs, recommend purchases, and coordinate repairs with the Maintenance Department when necessary. Collaborate with the Executive Chef in planning menus, special events, and food production schedules. Provide input regarding departmental budgeting and operational needs. Serve in the Executive Chef's role on a temporary basis during periods of absence. QualificationsEducation High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Minimum of two years of cooking experience using standardized recipes required. Experience in long-term care, retirement communities, or healthcare food service preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Certifications ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification required. Professional Chef certification strongly preferred. Why Join Piedmont Crossing? Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
