Sip & Cinder is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Waxhaw. Sip & Cinder is a cocktail-forward destination that reimagines Southern food with an elevated presentation, bold flavors, and a balance of tradition and innovation, all served in a contemporary, hospitality-driven atmosphere. As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations, execute a creative and consistent menu, and develop a strong back-of-house team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing restaurant group with four other successful concepts, all rooted in culinary innovation.

Responsibilities:

Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, including prep, service, and menu execution Lead and train BOH staff to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in all dishes Maintain high standards of sanitation, safety, and organization in the kitchen Assist with scheduling, ordering, and inventory management Contribute ideas for seasonal menus and specials, showcasing Southern flavors with a modern twist Uphold food and labor cost goals through efficient practices and team accountability Step into a leadership role when the Executive Chef is off-site, ensuring smooth operations and a positive work environment

Qualifications:

Prior experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Lead Line Cook in a full-service restaurant Strong culinary skills with a passion for Southern-inspired cuisine and creative presentation Proven leadership and mentoring abilities in a kitchen environment Solid knowledge of food safety standards, ordering, and inventory control Ability to thrive in in a high-volume, fast-paced setting while maintaining quality and consistency Collaborative, team-first mindset with excellent communication skills If you're a culinary professional ready to grow your career and help shape an exciting new concept, we'd love to meet you.
