In Person About the Opportunity Reese Villa Personal Chef Services creates elevated, restaurant-quality dining experiences in our clients' homes for private dinners, celebrations, vacation experiences, and special occasions. We're seeking an experienced culinary professional with a strong fine-dining foundation who can grow into a trusted Lead Private Chef. Previous private chef experience is preferred but not required. Chefs with backgrounds in fine dining, upscale restaurants, luxury hospitality, resorts, or high-end catering are encouraged to apply. Selected chefs will have opportunities to shadow, complete culinary evaluations, and learn our private dining standards before independently leading client experiences. Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and plate elevated multi-course menus. Manage mise en place, timing, pacing, and execution throughout service. Work efficiently in residential kitchens and adapt to different environments. Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and organization. Prepare proteins, seafood, sauces, composed dishes, sides, and desserts. Accommodate dietary restrictions and approved menu modifications. Shop for ingredients when assigned. Communicate professionally with clients and team members. Coordinate with Sous Chefs and service staff when assigned. Maintain a clean and organized client kitchen from arrival through breakdown. What We're Looking For Professional experience in fine dining, upscale restaurants, luxury hospitality, resorts, catering, or private dining. Strong culinary techniques, knife skills, and understanding of scratch cooking. Experience executing multi-course menus. Strong plating and presentation skills. Ability to prepare a range of savory dishes and desserts. Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and remain composed during service. Professional, dependable, and hospitality-focused. Reliable transportation and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and select holidays. Dessert Experience You do not need to be a pastry chef. However, candidates should be comfortable preparing and presenting quality desserts as part of a complete dining experience, such as crème brûlée, panna cotta, cheesecake, bread pudding, tarts, mousses, and similar desserts. Private Dining & Hospitality Working in a client's home requires more than culinary skill. Chefs must be respectful of the client's space, comfortable working in unfamiliar kitchens, clean and organized, adaptable when circumstances change, and professional in all client interactions. We can teach our private dining procedures and Reese Villa service standards. We're looking for chefs who already bring strong culinary ability, professionalism, good judgment, reliability, and a genuine hospitality mindset. Evaluation & Growth Selected candidates may begin with paid shadow opportunities, assisted events, and/or culinary evaluations before being approved to independently lead private dining experiences. Advancement is based on culinary execution, reliability, professionalism, organization, hospitality, and the ability to consistently meet Reese Villa standards. Compensation & Schedule Compensation is paid per event and varies based on the complexity, duration, guest count, travel requirements, and responsibilities of the assignment. This is an event-based opportunity and does not guarantee full-time hours. Events may take place on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and select holidays based on confirmed bookings and chef availability. Professional Requirements Successful background check and identity verification. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Food safety certification such as ServSafe is preferred. Ability to obtain general liability insurance before accepting independent assignments. Affordable insurance resources can be provided. A culinary portfolio, sample menus, or photographs of previous work are encouraged. If you're an experienced chef who takes pride in exceptional food, professional presentation, and hospitality —and you're interested in bringing those skills into private dining—we'd love to hear from you.
