The Role:
Sushi Chef Tomiko-San is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a skilled sushi professional who takes pride in precision, freshness, and craftsmanship, and who works well as part of a close-knit kitchen team. Immediate start available. Recommended Experience Minimum 2 years of sushi bar experience Strong team player with a collaborative, detail-oriented approach to every service Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-standards kitchen environment Required Skills Fish butchery Hot food / sushi bar prep Roll making Nigiri & sashimi making Basic Japanese knife skills General Responsibilities Break down and butcher whole fish to the highest standards of quality and yield Prepare and maintain hot food and sushi bar stations for daily service Craft rolls, nigiri, and sashimi with precision, consistency, and attention to presentation Maintain proper handling, storage, and rotation of fish and seafood to ensure freshness and food safety Uphold rigorous sanitation and food safety standards at all times Collaborate closely with kitchen leadership and fellow team members to ensure smooth, well-timed service Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving of fish and sushi bar supplies as needed Maintain and care for Japanese knives and sushi bar equipment Contribute to a positive, respectful, and detail-driven kitchen culture Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $17-$24 per hour, based on experience Opportunity to grow within an established, multi-concept hospitality group Hands-on role showcasing traditional Japanese technique and craftsmanship Ready to bring your craft to Tomiko-San?
