This individual is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the preparation of varied, nutritious, well-balanced, and culturally appropriate breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in a human services not-for-profit setting

Status:

Full-time, hourly, non-exempt

1. Be ServSafe Certified. 2. High school diploma required. Associate degree preferred. 3. Experience with preparing nutritious congregate meals for 30 to 40 people. 4. Experience with securing donated and/or low-cost food and food supplies within a budget. 5. Use of computer and Microsoft Office. 6. Familiarity with the multi-cultural food and dietetic needs of persons living with chronic illness. 7. Clean, valid driver's license. 8. Availability to work some holidays. 9. Experience working with people with disabilities in a not-for-profit setting.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and oversee the preparation of varied, nutritious, well-balanced, and culturally appropriate breakfasts, lunches, and dinners that will meet the following guidelines of healthy eating patterns recommended in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. 2. Order, secure, and organize high quality food and supplies at the lowest prices or through donations through the Regional Food Bank and other sources to meet the approved budget. 3. Ensure kitchen coverage. Coordinate and train volunteers. Supervise Assistant Chef. 4. Enter all services for meals provided into the agency databases (EHR and AIRS within 48 hours of service. 5. Develop innovative menus. 6. Oversee the planning, shopping, and disbursement of pantry bags. 7. Distribute food vouchers and review receipts for nutritional purchases. 8. Coordinate community dinner/BBQs 9. Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas. 10. Complete forms with daily statistics of meals served, volunteers, and other items. 11. Be ServSafe certified and attend 24 hours of annual required trainings. 12. Participate in CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) meetings. 13. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Pay:

$24.00
