Pastry Chef

Overview Mira is looking for a Pastry Chef to join our team! Mira is a Mediterranean restaurant in the Elmwood Village. The menu highlights the cuisines of Italy, Spain, Greece and other countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea. We have a strong focus on house made pastas, charcoal grilled meats & vegetables and a Mediterranean focused beverage program. The ideal candidate needs to have a genuine passion for cooking. They need to have positive energy, leadership skills, and are comfortable in a fast-paced, ever changing environment. Responsibilities Collaborate to create dinner dessert menus, breads, gelato and brunch baked goods Lead the pastry team to ensure that production gets done in a timely fashion Responsible for ordering and inventory Executing dinners for private events Capable of leading the team and creating a positive kitchen atmosphere Execute prep and service with efficiency & cleanliness Maintain a sense of urgency Qualifications Minimum 5 years of working pastry in a restaurant is required Previous experience of kitchen management is required Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations Ability to work in an ever-changing environment Strong product knowledge Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
