Job Description
Looking for a Second Shift Chef/manager in a food manufacturing plant. Might work first shift at times. Responsibilities Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment. Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables etc.) Cook food in various large Kettles and Ovens Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen. Ensure all food and other items are labeled and stored properly. Check quality of ingredients Any other task assigned by manager. Requirements Proven experience as cook Experience in using standard kitchen equipment. Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) Ability to follow all sanitation procedures. Ability to work in a team. Very good communication skills Able to work in Hot and Cold areas. Able to lift 50 lbs. High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage. Prior experience in related food service and food preparation positions. Experience with large batch cooking a plus Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes. Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
