Working Head Chef - Dinner Service Only (40 Hours/Week)
The Opportunity:
Tired of 60-hour weeks and corporate kitchen drama? North Plank Road Tavern, a historic 60-seat fine dining landmark, is seeking a hands-on Working Head Chef. We offer the rarest schedule in the industry: dinner service only, a strict 5-day/40-hour week (Wed-Sun), and major holidays off. You will run a streamlined, efficient 3-person kitchen (Chef, Garde Manger, and Dishwasher). This is the perfect role for a talented chef or creative Sous Chef ready to step up, own their menu, and lead from the line without the stress of managing a massive staff.
What You Will Do:
Own the
Line:
Lead daily hot-line cooking and BOH operations. Drive the
Menu:
Design creative fine-dining menus, monthly wine pairings, and daily features. Manage the
Kitchen:
Oversee ordering, inventory, food costing, and safety standards.
Craft Quality:
Handle butchery, plating, and collaborate on desserts.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
5+ years in fine dining as chef, or a stellar Sous Chef ready to take the lead.
Skills:
Strong classical technique, smart food costing habits, and menu design skills.
Attitude:
A reliable, calm, and collaborative leader who thrives in a small team.

Wednesday-Sunday, 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM kitchen hours (Strict 40-hour week).

Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
