Job Description

Pastry Chef Pastry Chef team members are responsible for preparing, decorating, and presenting pastries that reflect The French Workshop's standards of artistry, craftsmanship, and quality. While the primary focus of this role remains pastry production and finishing, pastry team members are also expected to support select baking responsibilities when needed in order to help the workshop run smoothly. This role is for individuals who take pride in detail, consistency, and presentation, and who understand that every pastry contributes to the guest's overall experience. Core Responsibilities Decorate, finish, and present pastries according to TFW standards Execute daily and weekly pastry production plans with quality and consistency Support baking duties as needed, including oven use, product finishing, and basic production support Maintain clean, organized, and food-safe workspaces Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation Track production quantities and report waste, shortages, or quality concerns Help manage ingredient and supply awareness and communicate needs to management Store, label, and rotate ingredients and products properly Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and stations after use Work collaboratively with bakers and other production team members to support shop needs What Success Looks Like Pastries are consistent, beautiful, and ready on time Pastry team can flex to support baking needs without losing quality Production areas stay clean, efficient, and organized Waste is monitored and reduced through good planning The pastry case reflects craftsmanship and abundance Skills and Qualities Strong attention to detail and presentation Good organization and time management Ability to work independently and with a team Pride in craftsmanship and consistency Calm, focused, and adaptable under pressure Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted Ability to stand and walk for long shifts Ability to work in cold and hot conditions, including refrigerators and ovens Flexible availability including early mornings, weekends, and holidays Pastry or baking experience preferred Message us on Indeed or Call to schedule an interview: Ask for Kay 914-810-7470 option 0
