Canby Grove is a year-round camp and retreat center located on 54 scenic acres along the Molalla River in Canby, Oregon, where hospitality, teamwork, and great food matter. Our kitchen serves groups ranging from 25 to 400 guests, and we're searching for someone who takes pride in creating high-quality meals people genuinely enjoy.What We Are Looking For:
Canby Grove is looking for a talented floater Camp Chef to join our team and help create memorable dining experiences for guests. If you enjoy preparing delicious meals, working with a supportive team, and serving in a beautiful setting, we'd love to meet you.What You'll Do:
- Prepare nutritious, flavorful meals for groups of all sizes
- Follow house recipes, food prep; schedules, and service timelines
- Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation
- Follow all Oregon Health Authority food safety, storage, sanitation, and cleaning regulations

You:
- Enjoy cooking for large groups
- Have experience in commercial kitchens or camp food service
- Are familiar with food safety and sanitation standards
- Bring creativity, organization and energy to the kitchen
- Work well with others and enjoy creating great guest experiences If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques, creative ingredients, or large-scale meal preparation, even better!
Skills Needed:
- Ability to follow recipes for menus and improvise when necessary.
- Ability to create meals from scratch.
- Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen tools, equipment, and safety.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Professional communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-soling skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent coordination and time management skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and protocol.
- ServSafe Food Management Certification.
- This position is non-except, paid hourly.
Preferences:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of cooking for camps, schools, o other large group settings.
- Degree/diploma/certificate from a culinary school or equivalent of work or experience.
- Bilingual - Spanish/English.
Requirements:
- Valid Oregon Food Handlers Certificate
- Must be at least 18 years old to operate, repair or clean power-driven food slicers, grinders, choppers, and mixers.
- Pre-employment checks such as criminal background check, reference checks, and American Camp Association (ACA) background checks may be completed at onset and potentially on an annual basis.
