Job Description

An established childcare center in the Abington, PA area is looking for an experienced chef to lead their kitchen full-time. This is a hands-on role feeding over 100 children, ages 1-5, every day — with allergy management as a top priority and a firm commitment to scratch-made meals over processed foods
Schedule:
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, full-time. Additional hours available for special events.
Start date:
Immediate Pay:
$20-23 /hr

Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver breakfast, lunch, and multiple snacks daily for 100+ children ages 1-5 Manage food allergy protocols from ingredient sourcing through service, including cross-contact prevention, labeling, and clear communication with teaching staff Develop scratch-made, age-appropriate menus that meet nutrition standards for infants and young children Handle kitchen inventory, ordering, and food safety compliance Maintain a clean, organized kitchen that passes health inspections without issue
Requirements:
Experience cooking at volume in a school, daycare, camp, catering, or similar institutional setting Direct, hands-on experience managing food allergies in a group or institutional setting, or willingness to work with Employer to create a new process for doing so. Current food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent), or willingness to obtain one immediately To apply, submit your resume through this posting!
