The ideal candidate has strong culinary skills, experience in high-volume or fine dining environments, and a dedication to developing both people and product. Daily Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations Supervises food production in the Main Clubhouse for all (4) dining venue Supervises the AM Sous Chef, Jr. Sous Chef, and the line cooks Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations Participate in the development of the kitchen's business strategies Create an environment for employees that is aligned with the Club culture through constant communication and reinforcement Provide employees with the tools and environment they need to deliver excellent experiences Develop and implement strategies and practices that support employee engagement Assist Executive Chef with developing and testing recipes in alignment with seasonal menus and Club standards Ensure adherence to Club standards of food quality Maintain product consistency by conducting inspections of seasonings, portion, and appearance of food Ensure that unused food is stored properly in order to minimize waste and maximize quality Assist the Executive Chef with recruiting and staff selection Train and mentor culinary team members to foster growth and professionalism Ensure that proper sanitation practices are followed Collaborate on banquets, member events and specialty dining experiences Keep current with local trends and competitors pricing, work on new ways to elevate the Club's culinary expertise Exhibit a professional persona through uniform code and appropriate interpersonal communication Uphold a culture of excellence, respect, and continuous improvement

understanding how to get the most out of each individual and motivate them to continuously work hard Qualifications & Skills Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) in Culinary preferred Minimum of four (4) years hospitality culinary management experience Must be service oriented with a great attention to detail Background in cost control including food cost, labor cost, utilization of waste and equipment Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating manuals, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to work with a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Excellent conflict resolution skills Serve Safe preferred Well-rounded knowledge of kitchen equipment Understand private Club style and F&B service with an emphasis on learning and knowing members' preferences Sense of urgency and a desire to satisfy members' requests Resourceful problem-solving skills Excellent inter-personnel skills required with a positive professional demeanor Demonstrated leadership and team building skills Desire to continuously expand culinary ability Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English Salary & Benefits The Merion Cricket Club will offer compensation appropriate for any combination of accreditation and experience in accordance with a $5 million F&B program.
