Australian-owned restaurant Hudson Botanical is a fast paced, elevated brunch restaurant, serving specialty coffee and a seasonally rotating menu. We are always on the lookout for motivated, caring individuals to join our growing team, and at present, we are in search of a
FULL TIME
Prep Chef & Lead Line Cook for an immediate start. At HB, we take our jobs seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Position:
This is a hands-on kitchen role for an experienced chef who is equally comfortable taking ownership of prep and stepping onto the line for a busy service. Working under the direction of Chef-Owner Brent Hudson, you'll play an important role in keeping the kitchen organized, prepared and running smoothly. You'll be responsible for high-quality food preparation and presentation, maintaining consistency across our menu, and helping guide the kitchen team through fast-paced services.
Responsibilities include:
Completing daily prep efficiently and to a consistently high standard Organizing and maintaining prep lists, ensuring the kitchen is properly stocked and prepared ahead of service Preparing ingredients, sauces, dressings, proteins and other menu components according to HB recipes and specifications Assisting with kitchen ordering, monitoring stock levels and communicating ingredient and supply needs to Chef-Owner Brent Hudson Setting up and maintaining an organized, fully stocked line Cooking confidently across a fast-paced hot line, including grill and other stations as required Leading the line during busy services and keeping communication between stations clear and efficient Plating finished dishes with finesse, consistency and care in line with our elevated brunch brand Monitoring food quality, portioning and presentation throughout service Supporting and guiding less-experienced cooks and kitchen team members when required Following proper food rotation, labeling, storage and waste-control procedures Maintaining impeccable kitchen cleanliness and organization at all times Upholding all food safety, sanitation and kitchen standards Assisting with preparation and execution of off-site catering events as required
Requirements:
Minimum three years experience in a high-volume, hot-line kitchen. Strong prep skills and the ability to confidently work multiple stations during a busy service are essential. Service style that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful at all times. Robust food and beverage knowledge, natural ability to work as part of a team, and a passion for the service industry.

COM Working Hours:
Your typical work week will be Tuesday thru Saturday with rotating Sunday's required. This is a
FULL TIME
role and your flexibility to work 40 hours across these days, is much appreciated. We also offer catering for off-site events, and as such, there may be opportunities for additional work outside of the above mentioned hours.
Compensation:
Between $18-$23 per hour, dependent on experience. If you are willing and able to work on Sundays, this will be paid at a rate of time and a half (1.5x) as is customary in Australia.
