Camac Street, Philadelphia The Tavern Group is seeking a hospitality-driven AM Line Chef to join our culinary team at our Camac Street properties: Tavern on Camac, UBar, and 254. Located in Philadelphia's historic Gayborhood, our Camac Street properties offer a unique hospitality environment with distinct concepts, busy daytime operations, and a strong focus on quality food, beverage, and genuine guest service. Across The Tavern Group, we are committed to thoughtful hospitality, attention to detail, and creating restaurants where both our guests and our team can thrive. We're looking for a cook who takes ownership of their shift, takes pride in their work, and brings a high level of professionalism and initiative to every service. This is a dedicated AM position with a significant degree of independence, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who is confident managing their space, maintaining kitchen standards, and consistently delivering quality food. The Role
Work a consistent, dedicated AM schedule
Execute daytime kitchen service with accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
Prepare stations for service and maintain proper mise en place throughout the shift
Follow recipes and execute menu items to specification
Complete daily prep while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail
Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation
Receive, organize, and properly store deliveries as needed
Monitor product levels and communicate prep, ordering, or operational needs to management
Work closely with the Chef and Front of House team to ensure a smooth service
Take initiative during slower periods to complete prep, maintain the kitchen, and improve overall readiness
Communicate effectively with the PM team to ensure a smooth transition between shifts
What You'll Bring
Previous line cook or chef experience in a quality-focused restaurant
Strong fundamental cooking and knife skills
Ability to execute food consistently to recipe and specification
A genuine passion for food and hospitality
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of a shift
Excellent time management and attention to detail
High personal standards for cleanliness, organization, and food safety
Ability to multitask while maintaining composure and consistency
Positive attitude, professionalism, and reliability
A proactive approach and willingness to take initiative
Desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a strong culinary team
