Role:

Gennaros Cafe in the Emsworth area of Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef / Line Cook to join our kitchen team! Responsibilities:

Prepare and execute menu items consistently and efficiently during service Assist Head Chef with kitchen operations, food prep, and line management Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards at all times Monitor food quality, portion control, and plate presentation Manage mise en place and ensure stations are stocked and organized before each shift Support inventory management, food storage, and minimizing waste Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Line Cook, Sous Chef, or similar kitchen role required Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays Passion for food quality and a positive, professional attitude
